AddBIO AB

AddBIO was founded in 2008 to develop and commercialize products for local delivery of drugs from orthopedic and dental implants. The products are based on the proprietary technology platform FibMat, enabling local delivery of a number of drugs from the surface of a medical implant.

The first product from the FibMat platform is Zolidd. Zolidd enhances the holding power of bone implants, through local delivery of a bisphosphonate drug. Good preclinical data has been the base for promising clinical results, and more clinical studies are on-going.

The development and verification of the technology is done in close collaboration with academic scientists, industry professionals, consultants, and a dedicated team of employees at AddBIO. Zolidd will be launched through close collaboration with clinicians in the orthopedic and dental fields, as well as with market players in the orthopedic and dental implant industries.

The FibMat technology platform is based on discoverie by Prof. Aspenberg and Prof. Tengvall, initiated by Professor Aspenberg’s acknowledgement of the problem with screw loosening in orthopedic surgery. Both Aspenberg and Tengvall are founding partners of the company, and part of AddBIO’s international network of clinicians and specialists.

AddBIO is a subsidiary to Accelerator Nordic AB (www.acceleratorab.se).
